Travellers Nest Bar fits seamlessly into the lively, textured fabric of Ciutat Vella, offering a relaxed spot for anyone winding down after a day navigating the bustling streets around Las Ramblas. This bar's unpretentious vibe is grounded in friendly, approachable service — whether it’s a solo traveler looking for a welcoming place or a small group settling in for drinks and small plates.

The outdoor seating spills onto Carrer de la Boqueria, providing a casual escape in the heart of Barcelona's busiest neighborhood. Inside, the atmosphere leans towards convivial without the rush or loudness of larger venues, making it a comfortable pause in the city’s flow.

It's a place that caters well to those who appreciate quality in both food and drink without fuss. Tapas like patatas bravas, calamari, and an anchovy salad complement the well-curated drink menu featuring local Estrella beer, the ubiquitous sangria by the pitcher, and creative cocktails including espresso martinis and cosmopolitans. Vegetarians will find enough options to enjoy without feeling sidelined, showing an inclusive approach to their menu.

The bar doubles as a social hub for travelers, evidenced by its mixology workshops and curated local trips, making it ideal for visitors wanting a deeper taste of Barcelona beyond just sipping drinks. The team’s warm hospitality, underscored by a distinctly international, English-speaking staff, helps ease the travel jitters, making it attractive for guests exploring alone.

Best times to visit lean toward early evening, after sightseeing but before the late-night crowd picks up, when you can take full advantage of the attentive service and unwind with well-made cocktails or a pitcher of sangria. The combination of modest pricing, a local yet traveler-friendly vibe, and a central spot just off the main tourist drag makes Travellers Nest a quietly dependable choice for those looking to relax with familiar flavors and good company in downtown Barcelona.

Lovely little hidden gem that we discovered on our walk through the city! Dave was friendly, helpful, and very attentive, even though it was NYE. I'm a vegetarian and it was nice to have so many delicious tapa options available. I took some photos, but some are half-eaten. Their sangria is my favorite in Barcelona, and available by the pitcher. We had the patatas bravas, meatballs, croquetas, aubergines, and potato omelet. We only stopped our sampling because we were full- everything was phenomenal! We walked in while a cocktail class was taking place, and even got signed up for tomorrow! So excited to be going back so soon. Highly recommended for a great night out!

Stopped here after a long day of sightseeing. I was greeted by a lovely Irish accent and wonderful hospitality. I had a couple of cocktails and some tapas which were delicious. All the staff were lovely and friendly and put me at ease as a solo traveller. Just wish it had been closer to my hostel so I could return easily. They also do cooking classes and trips which I would have liked to join if I was here longer as they looked really good value.

We did the get your guide mixology tour and had a blast! My wife and I were all by ourselves and our mixologist Santiago was super fun to talk to. He didn't rush through any explanations and was extremely genuine and patient and friendly. He really made the experience for us! Not to mention that the cocktails and tapas were delicious as well!

Tapas and several glasses of nice white wine in this lovely bar/restaurant. Food was delicious and the service from Miguel was excellent. Definitely a worthwhile detour off Las Ramblas.

We went for a cocktail making class as a surprise for our friends birthday and it was amazing. We were absolutely blown away by the amazing service of Simon!! This is by far one of the best services we have received, not to be dramatic. He welcomed us with open arms and made the experience fun and exciting, because of him this experience was extremely memorable and it is something that my friend group will cherish forever. Simon did not only exceed our expectations, he also made us laugh uncontrollably and created several memories that we will cherish for life. The birthday girl also has some allergies, but Simon accommodated them very professionally.

Had a great time visiting this bar last week and made to feel welcome from the minute I walked in. Staff were amazing, food and drink were great value and I especially enjoyed the cocktails. It’s a great place to meet people of many nationalities in the heart of Barcelona. I will definitely visit again on my next trip.
